Corvette Racing to Go Global in 2022

Chevrolet recently announced that they are getting ready to use the Corvette C8.R race car for this year's IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship in the U.S. It will also head over to the FIA World Endurance Championship, which takes place in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. After those two races, the C8.R will head to Le Mans.

All of Chevy's factory drivers will return for the global run of the Corvette. This includes Antonio Garcia, Nicky Catsburg, and Jordan Taylor. For IMSA, the drivers will be Tommy Milner, Nick Tandy, and Alexander Sims. The Corvette will hit up tracks such as the Fuji Speedway in Japan, Monza in Italy, and Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium.

Chevrolet also has plans to release a new racecar in 2024. The Corvette Z06 GT3.R will also be an international racing sensation. It will have the aluminum chassis featured in the Z06, and a modified version of the 5.5-liter V8 will be included.

We're excited to see some American muscle featured globally in the coming years. If you would like to find out more about these races or the upcoming release of the Z06 GT3.R, reach out to our staff at Capitol Chevy.
