Over the years. Chevy has developed a number of extremely capable pickup trucks. The Silverado EV ZR2 concept recently competed in the prestigious Mint 400 off-road race. This all-electric off-road race truck successfully completed a grueling 73-mile lap, thus proving its ability to handle extreme terrain. Keep in mind that Chevy also entered the gasoline-powered Silverado ZR2 and Colorado ZR2 race trucks into the event.
Breathtaking Power
The Silverado EV ZR2's electric propulsion system features three electric motors, which combine to produce an estimated 1,100 horsepower and 11,500 pound-feet of torque. Drivers can experience truly exhilarating acceleration and superior pulling power. While competing in the Mint 400 race, the Silverado EV ZR2 also showcased its impressive driving range. After arriving at the finish line, this electric-powered pickup still had 40 percent of its charge remaining.
Special Off-Road Upgrades
Chevy equipped the Silverado EV ZR2 concept with several off-road-ready components. Special Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve dampers help give the pickup over 13 inches of front and rear wheel travel. Meanwhile, locking differentials enhance traction when facing slippery trail conditions. Other rugged goodies include underbody skid protection, 37-inch BF Goodrich KM3 Mud Terrain tires, and a suspension lift for extra ground clearance.
2026 Silverado EV Trail Boss Is On the Way
Chevy plans to launch the Silverado EV Trail Boss this summer. This off-road-ready model features a factory-installed lift, red tow hooks, 35-inch all-terrain tires, and a new Terrain Mode. Outdoor enthusiasts can now go green without making any compromises.
