GM, the owner of Chevrolet, has stated that they plan to have only all-electric vehicles by 2035. This will even include their hummer series, which is notorious for using a lot of gas.
Factories
The people behind Chevrolet have talked about one of the big factories that will be made to allow Chevrolet electric cars to be built instead of gas cars. This is called the Factory Zero structure in Detroit.
It is already being made, and it will ultimately cost $2.2 billion. This factory will also help to create electric versions of the Hummer. Joe Biden himself toured the factory as part of an infrastructure bill to help make an electric future. The company plans to have no gas emissions in its vehicles by the 2035 deadline.
In particular, the Hummer is going to not only be all-electric, but it will be capable of traveling 350 miles on just one charge. This battery will power Chevy vehicles and weigh thousands of pounds, and it will make it so that many of these vehicles will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 miles an hour in seconds.
Specific Models
Other vehicles that will be part of the Chevy transition to all-electric include the Silverado EV from Chevy. This vehicle will have expansive storage and many utility features. This will include the eTrunk. Which is waterproof, lockable, and attaches to the front of the vehicle. This will make this Chevy EV has even more space. A 5 foot 11-inch bed gives even more space for the EV.
In other words, not only is the company going to transition to an all-electric lineup, but there will be many different kinds. It won't just be standard cars. The old lineup of Silverado and other trucks will be the same as they were before in many respects, except now they will be powered by electric motors instead. This will allow the company to have vehicles that produce zero emissions.
